We were so lucky!  We trekked for an hour through falling snow, around the lake to a vantage point we’d found in the afternoon.  Within about five minutes of being there, the weather cleared (thanks to the high winds blowing it all through!) and we were treated to a fabulous display lasting about an hour.  The light morphed from a paler swathe of coloured mist to an intense shimmering curtain of light that seemed to walk across the sky.
